Kanger K-PIN Vape Kit Review

If you're in the market for a starter kit that will help you get started with sub ohm vaping, you may be considering the Kanger K-PIN. Maybe you're just looking for something more portable to compliment your higher powered mods. Either way, today we'll be doing an in-depth review of the K-PIN to help you figure out if it's the vape you've been looking for. Also be sure to check our vape buyer's guides for important information to consider before making your first purchase. Manufacturing Quality The manufacturing quality of this kit is okay for a starter kit, but there is also a lot missing that you may find frustrating over time. I'll start by going over what I like about it, then explain the things that the K-PIN doesn't have that you may want to look for. For starters, this has a pen-style design. The size and shape mean it's going to be great for portability. There's also one button, which makes it incredibly easy to use, even if you've never vaped before. Right now, you may be thinking that this sounds great. Portable and easy to use? What more could you want, right? That's the thing. There's a lot you might end up wanting. For example, the battery in this is built in. Most vapes these days run off removeable 18650s, which make it very easy to extend the battery life by buying extras. With this, you're stuck charging the entire unit every time you run out of battery life. Then there's the fact that the tank for this doesn't give any airflow. You may end up liking the way it's calibrated, but you don't have any room to experiment and find out if you'd prefer a different style. As is, you'll be getting a restricted direct lung hit. The only other 'feature' on this that's worth talking about is the telescoping drip tip. To get the mouthpiece out, you have to twist the top of it. The Kanger website says this is for hygienic reasons, but I'm not really sure how much cleaner this will make anything. I don't personally like it, but some people may? Flavor Quality The flavor and overall vapor quality are good, but remember, there's not much at all that you can do to change them. The kit only comes with one type of coil, two 0.2ohm SSOCCs. Like I mentioned above, there is also no airflow adjustment and you'll be looking at a restricted direct lung hit. If you're just switching from smoking, you may or may not enjoy this. A lot of people prefer to continue with the mouth-to-lung style that they are used to, but this really isn't designed to accommodate that. On the plus side, cloud production was better than you would expect for a basic pen vape like this. Power Flexibility You don't get any power flexibility with this at all. There is just one button, and all it does is adjust turn the vape on and off then engage the coils. Technically the voltage output will decrease as the battery life decreases, but that isn't actually useful. I'm just letting you know because you may notice that they give a voltage range for it and I don't want you to think you can adjust it. This is another area where you may not notice the limitations at first, but over time you'll likely wish you had a bit more control. Ease of Use The plus side to all the limitations is that using the K-PIN is extremely easy. There really isn't anything to do but set up the tank and turn it on. If you just want something that will get the job done with no fuss at all, you may like that it doesn't have a lot of features. On the other hand, there is an argument to be made that the limitations make it harder or impossible to get the type of vapor you enjoy. Portability Portability is another area where the K-PIN scores well. It's small, easy to hold, and convenient to carry. It will fit in your pocket or a bag easily. I could see this being a decent option for people looking to grab something cheap to use on days that they don't want to carry one of their other vapes. Overall Experience With that being said, this is extremely cheap, portable, and easy to use. If that's all you're looking for, go ahead and buy kanger k-pin.
