Best 18650 Vape Batteries List 2024

As one of the most important power support for vape mods, 18650 batteries features perfect size and large capacity to be the No.1 outside battery power.

Actually, due to the complexity of the formulation and the cycles required for various tests, few big companies can provide good Li-ion batteries, like SONY, SAMSUNG, SANYO, and LG., etc. But there are still many models of 18650 batteries in the market, maybe you were confused about it, here we list the best 18650 vape batteries for your reference.

Best 18650 Batteries – 1. Sony VTC4

As a quote from Wikipedia “Sony Energy Devices Corporation (ソニーエナジー・デバイス株式会社, Sonī Enajī Debaisu Kabushiki Gaisha), is a Japanese multinational company specializing in a variety of areas in the energy industry and is a wholly-owned subsidiary and part of the Devices Group of Sony. The company was established in February 1975 in Fukushima, Japan.
” SONY VTC4 is an IMR battery with2100mAh capacity maximum discharge 30A current

Below are the test comments from Mooch.

At 10A continuous it reached about 1975mAh. This is a fantastic performance for a 2000mAh-rated cell operating at 10A so I am rating this cell at 2100mAh. This is the nominal capacity rating for the VTC4 so my results are typically what you will get.
Its temperature at 15A continuous was 64°C, significantly below the average for a cell operating at its CDR.
At 20A continuous the temperature rose to 77°C. This is about the average for a cell operating at its CDR.
At 25A continuous the temperature rose to 88°C. This is significantly above the average for a cell operating at its CDR.
At 30A continuous the temperature rose to 97°C. This is much, much too high a temperature to set this current level as the CDR. It is clearly not a 30A cell.
At the 35A continuous the temperature rose to 104°C, exceeding my safety limit of 100°C.
I am setting a CDR of 23A for this cell since at this current level its operating temperature is at the average for a cell operating at its CDR. While operating any cell near its rated maximum current level causes damage to the cell, I would expect a decent cycle life from this cell at 23A.
I have included pulsed discharges but I haven't set pass/fail standards for pulse testing yet. The discharges were done at 5sec on/30sec off, down to 2.5V. One chart shows the entire discharge at each level. The other chart is zoomed in to show the first 5 minutes to make it easier to see the voltage sag at different current levels.

Best 18650 Batteries – 2. Samsung 30Q INR 18650 3000mAh

Samsung 30Q 18650 is an INR battery that was launched in 2014 so at first few people use it for e-cigs, with more and more people realized it’s advantage and recommends it. It has 3000mAh capacity and maximum continuous discharge is 15A/20A.

Below are the test comments from Mooch.

At 10A it reached 2700mAh. This is average to low performance for a 3000mAh-rated cell.
Its temperature at 15A was 71°C, a few degrees below the average for a cell operating at its CDR.
At 20A the temperature rose to 83°C. This is at the upper limit of a battery operating at its CDR but is equal to the LG HG2.
At 25A the temperature rose to 96°C. This is way too high a temperature for a battery operating at its CDR.
