We've all been there, right? You're sitting down, about to vape out on your favorite juice, you're filling up your
tank and ::SPLOOSH!:: - you spill your juice all over your clothes. ARGH! This is literally the LAST thing you need right now! Whether it's your favorite Batman t-shirt, you brand-new jeans, your skirt, or your best dress work shirt,
e-juice stains are always a pain in the ass. But, you gotta admit, they sure beat the hell out of cigarette burn marks in your clothes!
Don't worry, we got'cha covered, fam.
Step 1: Blot, Don't Scrub
The last thing you want to do is rub the e-juice stain deeper into the fabric of your clothing. Find a clean washcloth and wet it with warm water. Gently blot the stained area and allow it to dry. If no signs of the stain persist, you're good to go! If, after drying, you still see signs of the stain, move on to Step 2.
Step 2: "Air" On the Side of Caution
If Step 1 doesn't take out the stain, try using on of those popular Oxygen-based granulated stain fighters you always see advertised on TV. Pur a small amount directly onto the stain and add a little warm water on top of it. With your finger, gently massage it into a paste and into the stain. Now machine wash in the warmest water recommended for the garment using your favorite detergent. Allow to dry and check the stain. If still visible, move on to Step 3.
Step 3: Break Out the Dish Soap
Propylene glycol, the oily substance in e-juice that gives you flavor and throat hit, will most likely be the ingredient that actually stains your clothes. Dr. Laundry suggests taking some dish washing liquid and rubbing it into the stain when it's dry. Wait 5 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Do not use cold because it could help set the stain. Now machine wash in the warmest water recommended for the garment using your favorite detergent. Allow to dry and check the stain. If still visible, repeat step 3.
Of course, the sooner you can attend to the stain the better. Any stain allowed to sit on fabric for days on end can ruin a garment and e-juice stains are no exception. Try the above steps and see if one works for you. Always follow the recommended care guide for your garment. If all else fails, you now have a brand-new puttering around the yard shirt.
Good luck and
vape on!
