If you like great looking mods capable of huge wattage, we've got an excellent review for you today because we'll be taking a look at the
Vaporesso Revenger, a 220w beast that comes in a very attractive package. This kit also has an NRG tank and two different coils, and we're excited to put it to the test to see if it lives up to expectations. Also be sure to check our vape buyer's guides for important information to consider before making your first purchase.
Manufacturing Quality
The manufacturing quality of the Revenger kit is very good. For starters, the design is fantastic. I especially like having the tank located in the center of the mod rather than off to the side. I know this isn't the first to do this, but the vast majority place the tank over to one side. In my opinion, this setup is much more visually pleasing.
More importantly than how it looks though is the fact that it is built well. The machining is all excellent, the materials are high quality, and the technology used is top of the line, including an OMNI Board 2.0 chipset.
This is powered by two 18650 batteries, which are accessed by removing a magnetic door on the back. There is nothing to indicate where the door is, you just pull it off. The magnets are strong and hold the door very securely.
The tank included is the
NRG tank, which comes with two of their GT cores. The tank offers great airflow adjustment, and it also has a proprietary drip tip with a built-in splash guard.
Flavor Quality
The vapor quality is excellent. There are two
gt coils that are included with this. One is the NRG4 and the other is the NRG8. Both have a resistance of 0.15ohm. In my experience, both produce excellent flavor if you use them within the recommended wattage range. 60w seems to work very well with either in my experience, though you may want more power.
Another thing I noticed is that this produces relatively large clouds for the power level you choose. If you like large clouds, you'll likely enjoy this kit.
There's one thing that I noticed that may frustrate some people. The airflow isn't as free as you might expect. From what I can tell, the splash guard in the drip tip adds a bit of restriction to the draw. Not a lot, but enough that you'll notice it if you like big lung draws.
Power Flexibility
The power flexibility is excellent. This can put out up to 9 volts and between 5 and 220 watts. The resistance range is 0.05-5.0ohm. There are temperature control modes for stainless steel, nickel, and titanium, with a temperature range of 200-600F. There's also a bypass mode.
On top of all that, there's even CCW and CCT modes. These stand for custom curvature of wattage and custom curvature of temperature. These modes are for advanced users only, but they allow you to really fine tune what your mod is doing.
Ease of Use
While there's a lot to like about this mod, I'm not a fan of the menu. It is not intuitive at all. There are several places where I thought I should be using the up and down buttons but had to use the main button instead.
Going over all the different click combinations would take pages, and you'll see what I mean if you get this and read the instruction book.
Even when you get the hang of what you are supposed to do, it can still be frustrating because some of the actions seem unnecessarily complex.
Portability
The portability of this is good. The height with the included NRG tank is about 145mm, which is a little over 5.5 inches. It's design is very comfortable to hold in your hand, but it's probably a little big to carry in the pocket of your pants.
If you are looking for something easier to take with you places, there are a lot of mods out there that are significantly smaller than this. This has 2 batteries, making it more geared towards performance than portability.
You may want to check out a mini
mod or an all-in-one device that has the tank situated inside the base if portability is what you are after.
Overall Experience
When I first saw the Vaporesso Revenger, I was extremely excited about it. The specs are great, and the design is fantastic. I had very high hopes for it.
For the most part, the Revenger lived up to my high expectations. The build quality is very good, and the
vaporesso revenger mod with the included NRG tank puts out excellent vapor. As far as kits go, this is one of the best on the market.
With that being said, I wish it were easier to use. I'm hoping that this is something that they can fix with new firmware in the future.
