My first puff every day always scares me the most as the crackling sounds just come from the inside of my disposable vape. I have to put it aside for a while in fear that a vape explosion will follow. Perplexingly, the popping sound only appears for the first puffs. What leads to the weird vaping sounds? 1. What is Normal Vaping Sounds?
Although combustion is not involved in vaping, vaping sounds are more noticeable than smoking a traditional cigarette for a vaper. For smokers, only sounds of burning tobacco and exhaling are loud and audible for smokers and people nearby.
Vaping is more audible for it requires a heating element to heat the e-liquid and airflow for making vapor. Basically, there are three types of vaping sounds:
(1) Hissing:
Hissing is audible when the vape is activated and the coil starts to heat the e-juice.
(2) Crackling/Pop
When the vape juice is vaporized, you will hear loud and clear crackling.
(3) Airflow Noise
If you prefer MTL, then the sound caused by airflow is less audible than DTL vapes. If you use a disposable hookah to make clouds, then the loud airflow sounds are inevitable as you need to inhale more air.
2. Why is My Vape Making Noises?
You can hear it when you vape. It is just a natural phenomenon as I mentioned above. However, if you can still hear it after you stop vaping, that's abnormal. If you hear these sounds during or after vaping, then you need to pay attention to the conditions of your vape:
(1) Disposable Vape Hissing or Buzzing After A Hit
It happens when the battery is malfunctioning and continues to power the coil to vaporize e-liquid. Your vape does not stop working as it is supposed to. In this case, it is not recommended to disassemble and fix it as you cannot turn a draw-activated vape kit off. The hot coil or spitting e-juice might hurt you.
(2) Why is My Vape Gurgling?
Such high-pitched noises only indicate one thing: the vape juice has entered the airflow chamber. You should stop vaping right now or you will have hot e-juice in your mouth.
(3) Vaping Like You Live in A Quiet Place
no terrifying monsters are trying to kill you but your vape neither works nor produces any sound. That means your rechargeable disposable vape or other vaping kits are dead or the internal connection is damaged. Usually is not suggested that you repair it on your own since you have access to most vape brands at reasonable prices.
3. How to Deal with Vape Making Hissing Noise When It is not in use
Here is the worst situation. The hissing noise haunts you even after you stop vaping. This suggests that the coil is still heating the remaining e-liquid and the vape is malfunctioning. You need to turn it off immediately otherwise the coil might be burnt. Battery overheating is another risk.
Since most disposable vapes are draw-activated, the best solution is to cover the airflow hole. Without inlet airflow, the vape may stop working eventually.
4. What Sounds Warn You of Vape Explosion?
Hissing, Popping, and Bubbling sounds are all possible signals for a malfunctioning disposable vape battery. You will hear such noises when the battery is venting, emitting gas as a safety feature.
If it occurs when the vape is not working, evacuate the area and prepare some sand for the risk of fire.
