Today I’m taking a good look at Vandy Vape Pulse AIO Kit – a Billet style box mod made in collaboration with American YouTuber Tony B.
Vandy Vape of course is an e-cigarette manufacturer based in China. They have bought us many great kits and atomizers like the Mesh V2 RDA, Pyro V3 RDTA, Gaur 21 Mod, and the cute little Apollo Kit.
Since releasing the original Pulse BF Squonk kit Tony B has updated the Pulse several times, all of which have been very popular. In turn, this has bought us a more affordable way to vape!
What Can We Expect From Vandy Vape Pulse AIO Kit?
Pulse AIO is a budget-friendly version of the much more expensive billet box device. I would describe this kit as an internal pod box mod!
The device is also compatible with most Boro tanks and the kit includes an RBA and stock coil tank.
If you are not sure what the term “Boro” refers to – basically this is a tank designed for use on Billet Box mods and the front slide off-tank panel is made from Borosilicate glass – hence the name.
These tanks are versatile and you can buy different rebuildable decks and “Bridges” which are adaptors that allow you to use different stock coils in the tank. Also, a lot of devices by other manufacturers are compatible with this system.
The device is powered by a single battery with a maximum output power of up to 80W!
There are 6 color options to choose from Black, Frosted White, Frosted Green, Frosted Black, Frosted Red, and Frosted Blue. You can of course purchase the side panels separately in a different color to create your combination.
Design and Build Quality
The kit comes well presented in a card box and includes an excellent amount of extras.
I received the Frosted White version.
Vandy Vape Pulse AIO Kit Overview
The device measurements are 97.5mm tall including the mouthpiece, 55.6mm depth, and a width of 28.2mm.
The whole device is made of Polycarbonate making it fairly light but with a feel in the hand that is very substantial!
From the Top
Pulse AIO comes with a Teflon 510 mouthpiece and to be honest, I don’t like this drip tip! It never seems to sit correctly in the tank not even if I lube it with e-liquid.
The tank securing 510 nuts is removable and holds the tank in place with pressure!
Side panels
Both plastic panel doors are held in position by magnets, the only difference between the panels is the front panel has a hole for the fire button.
Both panels have thumbnail slots to help remove them from the case.
InsideVandy Vape AIO
Looking under the front panel you will see a large clicky plastic fire button and the button is replaceable. The whole device is highly customizable – more about that further on!
The small OLED screen measures approximately 14mm by 5mm and the screen is clear and bright.
Below the screen are the adjustment buttons (again replaceable). Whilst quite small and made of plastic they have a nice click to them! The unit also has a USB “Type C” charge port rated at 1amp.
This site also has cutouts to help remove both the tank and battery.
Looking under the side panel, the device will hold a 21700/20700 battery or a 18650 with the aid of the included battery adaptor.
When new, the unit comes with the 3.7ml RBA tank installed. Also included in the box is a 5ml stock coil tank that takes the VVC range of coils.
Removal of the tank is accomplished by unscrewing the 510 nuts. The Pulse AIO has an adjustable 510 screw under the tank for those that may wish to use Boro tanks in the device.
Lastly, you will see Vandy Vape's chipset board, sealed in a plastic box that has a lightly molded advertisement on it.
In effect what Tony has done here is to rearrange the insides of the Pulse Squonk!
Sides and Bottom
The sides are rounded which makes the unit comfortable to hold!
One side of the device has 3 airflow holes that match up perfectly to the tank airflow.
Normal safety marks have been molded on the bottom of the device. Curiously there are no other markings on the exterior of the mod to say this is a Vandy Vape product.
Customization
Tony’s version is customizable with replaceable buttons, button surrounds, and screen panels. These are all available separately.
You can even change the screws!
The Tanks
Tony has named the tanks “Vessels”. Think about it, naming the device “Pulse”, Vessel does make sense!
The kit comes with 2 tanks.
RBA Vessel
Is made of clear plastic with “Pulse” as an advertisement. The tank will hold up to 3.7ml of liquid and has a Silicone fill port plug.
The base/build deck is metal with a curved build deck and the deck is designed to hold 1 coil.
Because the deck is curved, the airflow strikes the sides and bottom of the coil.
A black plastic airflow ring is removable from the 510 connection threading, which is great because you can then attach the build deck to a mod or Ohms reader to prepare your coil.
Stock Coil Vessel
Again made of plastic with a metal chimney and coil section it has an adjustable metal airflow ring.
One of the things I hate about pods is the TPD liquid capacity of 2ml!
No such worries with this tank it has a liquid capacity of 5ml.
It uses the Vandy Vape VVC coil range and 2 come with the kit.
These are also compatible with other Vandy Vape kits such as the Rhino, Unicorn, Nox, Jackaroo Mini, and Jackaroo Pod.

How Does Vandy Vape Pulse AIO KitPerform?
To start with today I will be making my own DIY Kanthal 24g coil for use with the RBA deck, the coil was created using a 3mm bit spaced and reads 0.5Ω.
I will then swap the RBA tank for the stock coil tank with the 0.6Ω coil.
With both tanks, I will be using “Sweet Lime Slushy” by Digi Vape. Kwik Vape liked the recipes so much they bought the company!
Basic Quick Start Guide
RBA Deck
Make your coil or use those that come with the kit.
A.Cut the coil tails around 6mm using the coil leg cutting guide and place the coil in the clamp holes and screw down the clamp screws.
B.Insert your cotton, cut approximately where I have, and fluff and tuck the tails into the deck.
C.Dampen the cotton and coil with e-liquid.
D.Install the tank into the Pulse AIO mod and fill with e-liquid via the fill port.
Stock Coil Tank
A.As always make sure you prime your coil before firing the device by filling the tank and leaving it to stand for 5-10 minutes. You can also add a drop or two of e-liquid to the inside of the coil before installing – be careful not to add too much or this could cause spitting.
B.Place the coil into the tank and fill it with E-liquid.
C.Install the tank into the mod.
D.Place your choice of the battery into the mod.
You can charge the battery via the USB 1A type C port, but as always I recommend using a standalone charger.
A.Click the fire button 5 times to turn the device on and off
B.Mode selection – click the fire button 3 times to choose from Variable Wattage, Variable Voltage, Temperature Control (SS, Ti, Ni), or Bypass.
C.Press the fire button to confirm choices.
Adjustment Buttons
A.Holding down the plus button and fire together will lock/unlock the device
B.Fire and minus buttons together will flip the screen.
C.Holding both adjustment buttons together will activate the menu system, which includes Rst, Ver, TCR, Smart, and Normal.
D.This device will adjust from 5 to 80W.
E.In volts the power will adjust from 0.5V to 6.0V
Protections
Pulse AIO has several protections including a 10-second timeout and low battery warning.
So what do I think of Pulse AIO from Vandy Vape?
When I first opened the box, I wasn’t impressed at all by the plastic look of the device. However, the Polycarbonate is quite thick and sturdy, to be a see-through body normally denotes cheap materials!
Over the time I have been using the device I have come to appreciate the sheer all-over design and quality as well as its customizability. I have stripped the unit down to almost bare bones and most impressively found no hint of glue anywhere!
Vessel Tanks
This is a nice little RBA to use, it gave me fair flavor. I did find leaving the plastic airflow ring off allowed for bigger clouds!
I do have to warn you – the base/deck is quite loose so I recommend reassembly of the AIO before filling!
The 5ml stock coil vessel was highly impressive, it’s a perfect tank for out and about!
While I wouldn’t call the vapor production from the VVC0.6ohm coil stellar, as a 20w mouth to lung vape it sure did tick my box for flavor!
I wasn’t so impressed with the longevity of the 0.3Ω coil, it only lasted me 2 days at 40w!
Battery Life
18650 batteries work great with this kit however it is my recommendation you take advantage of 21700 batteries.
My 21700 lasts me 2 days with the Stock Vessel at 20W and at least ¾ of a day at 45W with the RBA Vessel.

Final Review Verdict
Pulse AIO is an affordable take on the more expensive Billet Box design.
The only thing I didn’t like was the mouthpiece!
Other than that the mod is simple to use, the flexibility of having the RBA tank is an attractive quality to me.
The stock coils give good flavor and vapor production even if the longevity is a bit suspect!
If you want to learn to build DIY coils this would be an excellent starting place!
Would I buy this kit again due to loss or damage?
