Trends Vaporesso Target 80 Review: A Pod Tank Mod That Truly Stands Out

Pod tank kits are all the rage, and there are so many good ones available that deciding on what to purchase is challenging. Even so, the Vaporesso Target 80 has many features and qualities that make it stand out from its competitors.

Vaporesso Target 80 Review

The Vaporesso Target 80 is an 80-watt starter kit powered by a 3,000 mah battery paired with a GTX Pod Tank 26. It is regulated by the AXON chipset, making it highly responsive, and it has a durable build quality that prevents severe damage.

The 0.2-ohm coil is rated up to 60 watts, and the vape is also compatible with a 0.15-ohm coil rated for 75 watts. Both GTX coils produce a lot of vapor on their highest settings, but the 0.15 coil is sold separately.

Target 80 Review 3

Internal Build Quality and Design

The Target 80 is small, measuring 130.0 x 38.3 x 30.8 mm, making it easy to handle and pocket. Also, its small size makes it more convenient for traveling.

While not dust, shock, and waterproof, it is still pretty durable and can survive a few accidental drops. A-frame is built around the design, giving the guts some added protection against accidents. Still, users should be careful with it.

There are several colors available: black, green, grey, and blue. Nothing too extravagant, but a good color selection nevertheless.

Battery

The vape is powered by an internal 3,000 mah battery that can last a day, more or less, if not pushed over the hedge. As for charging time, expect it to charge between an hour and an hour and a half, depending on the battery’s status.

Screen

The mod uses a 0.96 inch TFT display screen that displays the wattage in the center. At the top is the battery life, and at the bottom are the power mode, resistance, voltage, and puff counter and timer.

Vaporesso Target 80 Pod

The pod holds 5 ml of nicotine liquid, and it has an airflow control ring at the bottom. The best thing is the top filling system, which decreases the chances of leaking.

Target 80 Review 7

The drip tip and top cap are removable and reveal the filling ports, and they are large enough to accommodate juice bottles or syringes.

Vaporesso Target 80 Coils

The coils are 0.2 and 0.3-ohm GTX mesh coils, and they not only are suitable for vapor but do a fair job of producing flavor. If those coils do not cut, the pod tank is also compatible with 0.15, 0.3, 0.6, 0.8, 1.2 ohms, and RBA coils.

Target 80 Review 8

The 0.2-ohm coil is rated for 45 to 60 watts, and vaping between 50 to 55 watts achieves the best balance between flavor, cloud production, and battery life on either juice.

The 0.3-ohm coil is rated for 32 to 45 watts, and like the other coil, a setting between the minimum and maximum wattages is the sweet spot.

Compatible Juices

These coils work best with 70/30 vegetable glycerin to propylene glycol liquids for flavor, but the 80/20 liquids produce slightly higher vapor levels.

Use the 80/20 juices with the 0.2-ohm coil and the 70/30 for the 0.3-ohm coil, and the vaping experience should be more than acceptable.

How Long Do the Coils Last

These coils should last a long time if used with the juices mentioned above. Also, make sure to properly prime them by dripping two or three drops of juice in the wicking and letting them sit in a full pod five to ten minutes before vaping. Doing this will give the juice enough time to saturate the coils and avoid dry or burnt hits.

How to Use Vaporesso Target 80

A. First, prime the coil and insert it into the pod from the bottom

B. Once the coil is firmly in place, remove the drip tip and top cap and expose the fill ports

C. Fill the pod and replace the top cap and fill port. Wait five to ten minutes for the juice to saturate the coil as stated above.

D. Put the pod on the mod, and you are ready to vape

Vaporesso Target 80 vs. Smok RPM80 80W

Even though these are both 80-watt mods, the Smok RPM80 is over twenty dollars cheaper, making it more of a bargain than the Target 80.

Another difference is that the Smok RPM80 uses a 18650 battery, making it better suited for people who prefer their batteries as opposed to onboard batteries.

The only problem with the Smok RPM80 is that there is some leakage from the coils. Other than that, it is an excellent alternative to the Target 80.

Vaporesso Target 80 vs. VooPoo Drag S Pro

These vapes have many similarities. Their pods hold the same amounts of liquid, they both come with low resistance coils, and they are almost the same size.

However, the VooPoo Drag S’s battery does not last as long. Also, the coils tend to leak. However, their coils produce excellent flavor, and the build quality is on par with the Target 80. As long as you don’t mind some slight leakage, the VooPoo Drag S is a good option to go with.

Pros&Cons

Positives

+   Sturdy and dependable

+   Excellent flavor and cloud production

+   Affordably priced

+   Good build quality

+   Portable and ergonomic

Negatives

-   Colors are too generic

-   Screen is a fingerprint magnet

Closing Thoughts About This Vape

Finding something bad to say about this Vaporesso mod is not easy. The only possible cons are that the screen size of the vape is a fingerprint magnet, and the colors are too generic, but that is being very picky.

The pros are that this vape is affordable, the GTX coils work great, a pod with plenty of juice capacity, good airflow, and sturdy build quality that comes just short of IP67/68 quality. There are more pros, but it is not possible to list them all.

This is an outstanding mod, and it is excellent for people who want something sturdy, portable/ergonomic, and flavorful, and cloudy.
