Trends VOOPOO VMate E Kit Review – Gorgeous and Elegant

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the new VOOPOO VMate E Pod Kit! This is an elegant-looking low powered kit that has a protective cap and a Leatherette facade.

VOOPOO VMate E Review

This kit adds to their smaller pod kit V range, like the original VMate and V Thru. VOOPOO has become one of the more popular vape brands over recent years, giving us many excellent series of kits from Drag 3 to Argus GT II and VMate 200w!

Design & Build Quality

VOOPOO VMate E employs an auto-draw fire system – so just inhale and let the device do the work. There are 6 colors currently available for VMate E: White Inlaid Gold (as reviewed), Red Inlaid Gold, Green Inlaid Gold, Classic Black, Classic Blue, and Classic Brown.

VMate E Device

VOOPOO VMate E is a small pod kit device. It measures 99.5mm in height, 30.5mm in width, and a depth of 17mm. The device runs off an internal 1200mAh battery using VOOPOO’s ITO technology and Gene chip. It is built with Zinc, Alloy, and Leather. At the top is a removable cap protector that slots nicely over the cartridge and connects to the main body.

Removing the cap and pod, the VMate E pod bay contains the normal spring-loaded gold contact points and the pods are of a press-fit design.

VMate E Review Parts

On the front of VMate E is the Leather panel with a ‘VOOPOO’ branding etched in at the bottom. Further up near the top are 4 small LED lights. These light as you puff on the device and give you a real-time battery level. These go out as the battery runs down.

Around the sides and rear of VMate E is a shiny Gold finish.

VMate E Review Design Back Info

On the left side is a small ‘Designed by VOOPOO’ and on the back is printed ‘VMATE E’ with small ‘Gene’ branding printed at the bottom.

Over to the right side is a small simple Airflow slider so you have some control over the airflow.

Situated on the bottom of VMate E is the Type-C charge port.

VMate cartridge simply slots into the top of the device and is secured by two magnets mounted on the bottom of the pod. As there aren’t any buttons, VMate E has a simple auto-draw function with a puff pressure regulation. The wattage (up to 20W) automatically sets to the cartridge in use to get the best possible vape from the resistance of the cartridge inserted.

VMate E Cartridges

Two cartridges for VMate E are supplied in the kit. One has a resistance of 0.7Ω for an MTL or a restricted DTL vape and the other is a 1.2Ω for MTL.

Both of the pods are refillable with side fill ports that are covered with a silicone bung, that also has the Ohms of the coil molded into it!

The cartridges are in smoked PCTG and have an E-liquid capacity of 3ml. And both feature a non-replaceable ITO coil, once either pod comes to the end of its natural life you will have to purchase replacements!

On the base of the cartridges are two large magnetic plates that connect to the Vmate E device, as well as dual leak-proof air inlets, that line up with the airflow control on the device when inserted.

To fill with E-liquid, just pull out the rubber bung on the side at the bottom, fill, and then just pop back in the bung. Throughout my testing, I have received a constant fair flavor and a good vaping experience from both pods. Apart from a little condensation, I have suffered no leaks in the pod bay!

VMate E Review Mouthpiece Pod

The cartridges for VMate E are version 2 to what was on the original VMate release and are also compatible with VMate Infinity Edition and V Thru Pro in the VOOPOO V range. With its silver ion mouthpiece, VOOPOO claims the V2 pods use the 5A freshness-seal technique which means its Anti-Dust, Anti-Light, Anti-Volatile, Antioxidant and Anti-Bacterial.

Cap

Also made of Zinc Alloy the cap has a leather sticker on one side.

The cap will click into position over the pod/cartridge. It has a plug that goes into the pod inside thereby sealing the pod from the world.

Not something I’ve seen before but there is a clever reason for the plug. Once in place, it creates an airtight seal so the e-liquid in the pod itself is protected from oxidation and therefore preventing possible decay.

Plus the e-liquid level is visible without removal.

Battery

The device lasted just over a day on the battery before needing a charge again with quite consistent vaping all day and evening. For its size, the 1200mAh is a decent internal battery and I have seen lower on bigger kits, so another plus point there for VMate E. To fully charge from a flat battery, it was 45mins in total, so a reasonably quick charge there via the Type-C cable.

Note when fully charged the White lights stay illuminated!

Performance

I’m not going to lie and say this is my type of device as it’s not, in general, I prefer something with a bit more welly than 20W.

The kit, however, does function great, it has a smooth draw, fair flavor, and vapor production!

VMate E Review Vapor

The device to me feels great in the hand and the weight is fairly substantial for a pod kit.

VMate E Review Weight

With the airflow slide fully open the 0.7Ω pod delivers a fairly cloudy restricted direct-to-lung vape.

Adjusting the airflow down makes for a good mouth-to-lung-style vape. I have used the 1.2Ω pod and I’m hard-pressed to decide on flavor quality of either pod, I suspect this is down to the new ITO tech VOOPOO has employed with the pods.

Because I personally prefer an airier vape I have been mainly using the 0.7Ω pod for a restricted DTL.

Pros

+   Excellent Quality and Design

+   Great battery life

+   Comfortable in the hand

+   Good flavor and vapor production

+   Beginner-friendly

+   Smooth airflow draw

Cons

I don’t have any real concerns with this kit.

Final Review Verdict

As far as smaller pocket-size pod kits go, VMate E is a decent little device. Although primarily a mouth-to-lung kit, you can get a very restricted direct lung vape from the lower resistance coil and open the air slider to wide open.

The newer V2 cartridges are good for flavor and also the anti-leak works as I haven’t had any leaks at all with them, and only really minor condensation on the 0.7Ω pod. The auto draw works well and is very responsive on the puff.

The removable cap on top is also a good touch. Not only fitting nicely with the design, but it protects your cartridge and juice inside. Especially in Summer, in hotter weather, I find tanks and pods left around can lose flavor. With the cap on, showing just the smoked window on the cartridge, the E-liquid for me seems to keep its flavor more.

I love this white and gold device! Against other kits of similar profiles, it looks very classy, almost like a VOOPOO V Thru in a wedding dress!
