Trends VOOPOO VINCI Q Pod Review

VINCI Q Pod Kit is the umpteenth entry-level proposal from VOOPOO that has inherited the exclusive ITO atomization technology, one of the best for disposable cartridges, the cartridges are equipped with a top filling and an anti-leaking more reliable, they are compatible with Vinci Pod and Drag Nano 2.

Impressions and Experience

The packaging, it’s presented in a two-toned colored finish with a clear window to show the kit. The outer packaging of both kits has a similar style in terms of printed information like manufacturer information, kit features, package contents, and VOOPOO’s socials. Overall, the packaging is just right and not wasteful.

VINCI Q Review 1

The only thing I wished for was if the VINCI Q kit came with 2 pods, perhaps the 0.8-ohm pod, to allow the user to experience a different kind of vape. And as I’ve always said (this goes for all manufacturers), packaging kits with 2 pods or even coils should be standard as if one pod/coil is faulty, then another pod/coil can be used by the vaper. Having just the one limits the experience and to be honest, risks ruining the experience, especially if the kit is a smoker’s very first vape kit. If someone is switching from smoking to vaping, as the target audience for vape starter kits, we want them to have the best vape experience to help them quit smoking. But moving on…

Design & Build Quality

Device

VINCI Q is produced and molded by combining two high-end plastics together; ABS and PC, which makes this very lightweight. I received the Charming Pink finish and this is one of the six macaroon colors that VOOPOO offers for this kit.

VOOPOO state that the mod body is made with “two-tone textured injection mold”, which to me means that the mod casing is made entirely out of plastic/plastic-like materials. I could definitely tell the texturing VOOPOO mentioned, and it appears solid, well-made, and smooth. It should be resistant to wear, drops, liquid infiltration, dust, and fingerprints.

The device has a weight of just over 30g and a size similar to that of a common lighter. These features make VINCI Q Pod Kit an extremely portable device. The overall design appears minimalist and understated.

Multifunction button

On the device, there is a single button, slightly protruding and concave in the center, really comfortable for the fingertip.  You have the choice to use this via the button or just on auto-draw. Either way is absolutely fine as the mod fires lightning quick in any case.

• Power On / Off: Press the button 5 consecutive times. When the device is on, you can vape directly, or vape by pressing the button. So, this kit is quite simple to use.

* Note To avoid accidentally pressing the trigger button, the button function will be locked after 5 minutes of non-use and will be reactivated by pressing the button for 3 seconds or after using the automatic vaping function.

This is quite an innovative feature, I thought, to prevent accidental presses. Well done here to VOOPOO!

Airflow/Battery

This mod doesn’t have airflow control. In the side profile, there is the air passage system towards the coil inside a groove, this system simply consists of two small opposing holes and of ideal dimensions for MTL.

Also inside this groove, on one side we find the USB-C socket for charging and on the other the words "Designed By VOOPOO Made in China".

The USB-C port is on the side of the mod which allows for upright charging, another feature that I really like because most people will charge their kits with the pod still installed (although I don’t, usually) and so charging upright keeps the pod upright as well.

Top & bottom view

On the bottom, there is an oval-shaped base that encloses the writing "Gene". The slightly rounded shape of the support base does not allow a safe vertical positioning of the device, however, it is not a noteworthy defect, personally, it does not bother me, I usually support this type of device horizontally.

The compartment/pod is devoid of magnets, the circuit and the system for receiving the intake signal are protected by a perforated and raised pin (anti-leaking). The two electrical conduction pins are floating and gold-plated.

ITO cartridge

The kit is supplied with a 2ml disposable cartridge and contains a 1.2Ω resistance compatible with the maximum power delivered by the device (11.5W). The cartridge adopts an updated anti-leaking system. During the Puff, condensate is collected in two bags one on each side of the cartridge. The condensate will be sent back into circulation by the airflow to be vaporized later.

The spout of the cartridge is anatomically shaped for the lips, the body/pod has a large transparent e-liquid control section. ITO cartridges feature an updated refill, filling now takes place from the top, simply by removing the cap and lifting a silicone tab. This can also be done by keeping the cartridge inserted into the device.

VINCI Q Review 7

* VOOPOO, to limit any spitting phenomena, recommends not filling the cartridge more than 2/3.

During the first use of the coil, it is advisable to wait at least five minutes for the cotton to soak in the liquid.

ITO cartridges (both old and new) are also compatible with VINCI Pod classic, VINCI Royal Edition, and Drag Nano 2.

Final conclusions

I think there is not much to add to the light and solid structure of this kit which adopts a simple line and a very sober graphic design. The Gene chipset is in line with the excellent performance it provides to VINCI Pod and Drag Nano 2 and the automatic "puff" works very well, thanks to the contrast generated by the two small air passage holes with respect to the pressure detector. The difference compared to other VOOPOO entry-level devices is that here we find an activation key with a useful automatic deactivation function after 5 minutes of NOT use. Adaptive power of 11-15W also intelligently manages the 0.8Ω ITO cartridge. With the 1.2Ω cartridge, the MTL vape is a real pleasure, I consider the contrast in suction obtained by the VOOPOO technicians to be perfect and balanced.

VINCI Q Pod Kit is brilliant in its simplicity of an economical device, without giving up the most important safety functions:

• Cut-off: 8s

• Fire key protection

• Short circuit protection

• Protection against excessive battery discharge

• Overload protection

• Over temperature protection

• Output overcurrent protection

I would highly recommend these kits for those wanting to switch to vaping or even as backup devices in the car or when traveling.

It is a good addition to VOOPOO’s growing number of starter kits and gives more options to the user to pick a kit that will cater to their vaping needs, and also allows them to express their personality with the unique designs and colors offered.

In conclusion, even if I am not a Pod fan, I can easily recommend VINCI Q Pod Kit.
