Trends VOOPOO VMate Infinity Pod Kit Review – Do I Need Antibacterial Cartridges?

VOOPOO VMate Infinity Edition is their latest iteration on an already popular pod kit.

Over the years VOOPOO has given us many excellent kits from Drag 3 to Argus GT II and VMate 200w! VMate Infinity Edition follows hot on the heels of the recent review of VMate E, which we found to be an excellent vape.

Design & Build Quality

VMate Infinity Edition device doesn’t offer much new over previous VMate devices. However, it’s still an excellent, easy-to-use device that performs well. The real upgrade here is with the new V2 pods that are easier to handle, leakproof, and slightly improved over previous ones. Fortunately, they can also be used in older VMate devices.

VOOPOO VMate Infinity Edition is available in 5 colors: Fancy Purple, Golden Brown, Shiny Green, Gradient Blue, and Dark Grey.

Device

First, let’s talk about the design of VMAte Infinity Edition. The device is incredibly pocket and palm friendly as it only measures 95mm x 25mm x 10mm (with the pod connected). It has nice curved edges and is a joy to hold in your hand; and is barely noticeable when slipped into your pocket, as it only weighs 90g.

VOOPOO connects the colors with things like the blue waves of the sea. Or, in the case of the ‘Fancy Purple’ we have for review, it ‘represents the glow when the evening sun sinks through the sky.’ That’s all marketing spiel really.

What I can tell you is that the fine printed lines on the body look nice, and like it has some texture. But it’s a perfectly smooth body, and that’s fine. The gradient colors look good and are far more aesthetically pleasing than some boring plain pod kits.

It’s a very clean-looking device with no buttons (as it works via auto-draw activation) and just a couple of small logos on each side. The ‘Infinity’ aspect of the design comes from the LED light pattern on the side of the device. It’s an infinity symbol (∞) that lights up, which is a nice little design touch.

On the base of the device is the USB Type-C port for charging. IT sits within an indented groove to keep it clear from dirt when placed on a table.

Pods

The new pod or cartridge that comes with VMate Infinity Edition is the VMate V2 pod.

It is possibly the most significant upgrade on the device. It is also compatible with other VMate devices and V Thru Pro Kit. The older pods are also fine to use in Infinity Edition.

Only one pod is included in the kit; it has a 3ml juice capacity and comes with an internal 0.7Ω resistance coil. There are other resistances available, and I’ve tested a 1.2Ω pod from another device, and it works well.

The pod is incredibly easy to fill as it has a large fill port on the side. The rubber plug is easy to open and seal. It also has the resistance of the pod written on the plug.

The whole pod works as the mouthpiece for the device, and just like previous VMate pods, it’s incredibly comfortable to use. It has nice smooth contours, which makes it fit perfectly in your mouth.

The pod has a slight tint to it, but it’s not too dark, and it is incredibly easy to see your juice level.

So what’s new and upgraded with the V2 pods?

Well, firstly, VOOPOO has adjusted the design, so they connect better to the device. It’s a push-fit but is easy to clip into place and pull out from the device. A grooved circular pattern in the center makes it easy to grip.

VOOPOO says it’s a ‘skid-proof design,’ I’m not sure about that, but it certainly is easier to handle.

Secondly, the mouthpiece has a 99% antibacterial rate and is made with silver ions. Which can only be a good thing, right?

The pods also have a dual Multi-Layer leakproof design. Dual-hole air inlets help the air travel in both directions without juice leaking out.

I can attest to this working, as I did not once come across any leaking or excess condensation build-up using the device.

Finally, VOOPOO claims the pods have a ‘Fresnel lens function,’ which reduces the probability of light deterioration of your juice by reflecting lights. I never knew this was a thing, and I’m no scientist, so I can’t tell you how important that is or isn’t.

I can tell you that VOOPOO has obviously put a lot of time and effort into improving their pod systems, which can only be a good thing for the user.

These new pods do act and feel better to me. I also believe they perform a little better, as we will now cover.

The only downside with the pods is that only one is included in the kit.

Battery

VMate Infinity comes with a 900mAh internal battery, which can be charged via USB Type-C. It has a charge rate of 1A.

VMate has the Gene.AI chipset. It has automatic power output where it detects the resistance of the pod and sets the optimum power accordingly. The maximum power is 17W.

The device’s status can be shown via the Infinity LED light on the side.

Battery Life

The 900mAh battery lasted me pretty much all day.

Performance

I’ve said in the past I’m not a great lover of small auto-draw devices, or come to that pod kits in general, as my preference is for something that is bigger and has a bit more oomph to it!

But I have to say VMate Infinity Kit does function just as it is advertised. VMate pods deliver a very consistent vape experience with a really good flavor. In fact, I think the flavor has gone a notch up.

There is no adjustable airflow with VMate Infinity Edition (as is often the case with these pods). However, the two small airflow holes on the side, and the pod, help deliver the right draw for this type of resistance (0.7) coil.

It’s a loose MTL draw, and it’s very smooth. The auto-draw trigger is also very responsive on the device; it feels almost instant as I inhale.

I think most vapers who use disposables or other pod systems will be very happy with the draw the VMate Infinity delivers. They will certainly be happy with the flavor from the pods as well.

I also found the pod has lasted me well and is still going strong after 10 days of use (with a fairly non-sweet e-juice).

VMate Infinity Review Performance

The 900mAh battery is the same as previous VMate devices; as before, it will see you through a day of vaping. If you want to push it further, it will need a top-up, but 1A charging is fast enough.

One thing to note is that it doesn’t feature a passthrough. So you can’t vape the device while it is charging.

Pros

+   Great build quality

+   Compact design

+   Good battery life

+   Comfortable in the hand

+   Beginner friendly

+   Good Draw Activation

+   Smooth airflow

+   Excellent flavor

+   Leak-resistant pods

+   USB-C charging (1A)

Cons

-    Only one pod cartridge included

-    No adjustable airflow (although the draw is perfect)

Final Review Verdict

VMate Infinity Edition is not a major upgrade on previous VMate devices. That’s not a bad thing, as they are all excellent performing pod kits that are incredibly easy to use. The new V2 pods deliver slightly improved performance, are easy to handle, and have a leak-resistant design.

VMate is an excellent step up from disposable vapes. It can rival even the best pod system on the market with its vape experience.

 VMate Infinity Review

Would I recommend VOOPOO VMate Infinity Edition?

This kit would be great for those new to vaping and for those who want to get off of disposable vapes or cigarettes. I think most MTL vapers would be happy with this one, so “Yes”.
